Established in 1967 as a distributor of Florida Tile, the company operated out of leased warehouse space on Cantrell Road in Little Rock. The company was purchased in 1974 by the then general manager, C W (Will) Elder. The name was changed in 1975 to Elder Distributing Co, Inc. Operations were moved to the current location at 9300 Maumelle Blvd. in 1976. The company was purchased in 2006 by current owner, Luther (Buddy) House.
Elder has operated continuously for forty-one years and has grown from a ceramic tile distributor serving primarily the sub-contractor trade to a full line floor covering distributor supplying product to the retail floor covering trade throughout Arkansas.
Elder maintains an extensive inventory of flooring products in a 35,000 square foot warehouse. Elder provides service to the entire state with a staff of knowledgeable customer service personnel, four professional sales representatives, and a fleet of delivery trucks to provide efficient distribution of product to all customers.
Elder also promotes the use of vendors products through efforts within the Architectural and Specifier’s venues.
